Week 8 - MBA 6601 - Ad Campaign Reflection
Overall, I feel like my ad campaign was successful in teaching me a lot of things. I had no interaction with Google Ads prior to this course. Now I feel like I could run an Ad Campaign with little difficulty. Tailoring it to turn profits may take some more time, but I feel like overall I was pretty successful. I'm not sure how many impressions and clicks people usually get in 10 days, but I was happy with the amount I received.
Above is the final count. I ended up spending $45.05 in total. Over 61,000 impressions and that got me a total of 152 clicks on my ads. I initially had a $7 a day limit set because of the slow start with clicks in the first 24 hours but when it began to pick up that is when I backed off to the $5 a day that my professor suggested. It is pretty impressive how fast the price ads up when the clicks start rolling in.I did find the app helpful in keeping an eye on things. It is very user friendly. You can easily change any of the keyword themes or quickly mark and save words as negative keyword themes, so I liked that feature. The only thing I found difficult was putting a time limit on the campaign. I ended up setting a reminder in my calendar for when to stop the ad campaign, because I never did figure it out. Going forward I would definitely figure that out, because I am sure when being wrapped up in a business start up, with all the distractions it would be easy to forget to stop or pause a campaign. Forgetting to stop it would mean continued fees would incur and that would definitely not be a good thing if you were on a set budget.
One additional thing I would try going forward is the addition of more ad descriptions. I feel like I did a pretty good job describing the book and giving Google Ads decent content to run. I think making some changes or coming up with new ads could have been beneficial.
